Meet Megan

Rev. Megan Benjamin is an ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church (USA) (PC(USA)), bringing over 20 years of experience in ministry shaped by creativity, compassion, and a deep commitment to meeting people where they are.

Throughout her ministry, Megan has served across the full life of the church—from children and youth ministries to adult formation and worship leadership. She has a particular love for music and the arts, she has spent much of her vocation creating meaningful, engaging worship experiences that invite participation from all ages and stages of life. Her leadership is rooted in the belief that worship is not something we simply attend, but something we enter into together—honestly, fully, and with openness to God’s presence.

In 2025, Megan was ordained in the PC(USA), marking an important milestone in a calling that has been unfolding over many years. Her ministry has consistently reflected a heart for inclusion, creativity, and spiritual depth, as well as a willingness to walk alongside others in both joy and hardship.

Megan currently serves as a chaplain with the United States Department of Veterans Affairs, where she offers pastoral care in a hospital setting. In this role, she accompanies veterans and their families through some of life’s most complex and tender moments—illness, grief, healing, and hope. Her chaplaincy work has deepened her conviction that ministry is often less about having the right words and more about showing up with presence, humility, and care.

Across every setting: sanctuary, hospital room, or everyday conversation , Megan’s approach to ministry is grounded in the belief that God meets us in real life. She is passionate about creating spaces where people feel seen, valued, and invited into deeper connection with God and one another.

Megan lives in Southern California with her husband and their two children. Outside of her formal ministry roles, she finds joy in music, picking up the guitar, yoga, going for walks and her cat and dog and lots of family time .
